As the internal Health and Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing expert leadership in work health and safety to all levels of staff, supporting and advising management teams, employees, and contractors across the Australia and NZ region. This is an opportunity to utilise your extensive experience to drive performance improvements through the implementation of robust health and safety management systems, including ISO 45001, while also collaborating with HR to develop comprehensive workplace wellbeing programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the development, refinement, and automation of internal health and safety reporting and statistical information, ensuring accuracy and relevance across the Health and Safety team.
- Set direction for effective internal health and safety policies and activities, ensuring consistent implementation throughout the organisation.
- Proactively work with managers and key staff to establish and maintain a program of continuous improvement in health, safety, and wellbeing.
- Lead the development and delivery of the ISO 45001 management system, including change management programs and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to provide practical and technical health & safety information to clients.
- Develop training materials and implement ongoing professional development for the health & safety team.
- Improve service quality through quality assurance reviews and one-on-one coaching sessions.
- Ensure compliance with all Work Health and Safety legislative requirements.
- Previous experience in developing and implementing ISO45001 is ideal.
- Thorough knowledge of current WHS legislation and its application.
- Tertiary level qualification in WHS (Work Health and Safety) at Diploma level or higher.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in medium to high-risk industries.
- Recent management experience in leading a small team of WHS professionals is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
